I come from Montreal, Canada. I'm currently starting a PhD in Computer Science - Artificial Intelligence at Berkeley. One of the reasons I chose AI is because it is a very multidisciplinary field: we play with mathematics, psychology, cognitive science, philosophy, biology, neuroscience, physics, engineering... I love it all. Plus it has some useful applications (in medical imaging, for example).
I also like sociology, history, politics, pedagogy & teaching, playing music (piano & guitar), vibrating with the music (swing, blues, jazz, classical, celtic, latin, ...), dancing (Lindy Hop, Blues, East Coast, Balboa, Latin dances, Hip Hop, Break Dancing [though I haven't done much of the last two]), cooking, eating, deep inspiring discussions, human warmth, massaging, smiling, sports (soccer, basketball, volleyball, badminton, swimming, alpine & cross country skiing, biking), helping people, connecting with people, sharing energy and passion, etc. etc. etc...
In brief, I have a deep passion to learn everything life has to offer; be it Physics, the politics of academia, dancing or the meaning of Life, Universe and Everything. I like to share this passion with others, and look for those little stars that you can sometimes see in people's eyes... And I think that communication is almost a panacea (not enough of *true* honest authentic communication in our world, I think).
